Acquisition of Lyndhurst Services Limited

On 27th February, MITIE acquired 100% of the issued share capital of Lyndhurst Services Limited from the existing shareholders (David Tait and Jeromy Collar). As a support services group, MITIE covers disciplines such as business services, catering, cleaning, engineering, facilities management, pest control, property services and security. With an existing landscaping division concentrating on corporate and public sector work, the acquisition of Lyndhurst Services complements MITIE’s range of services and clients.

Lyndhurst Services will continue to operate in the same way as it has done for the past 27 years and with the added support from MITIE Group, is keen to build on its strong success.

MERIT Rewards

A MITIE Lyndhurst Employee Reward Scheme called MERIT is going to be introduced on a bi monthly basis. It will reward those who have gone that extra mile; putting in that extra effort for colleagues and clients. Any MITIE employee or customer may nominate an employee to receive an award. The scheme is open to all MITIE Lyndhurst staff. High street vouchers to the value of £250 will be awarded to the most voted for employees. More information and nomination cards to be sent out soon.

Health and Safety

Health & Safety within our company is extremely important to our future success. Over the coming months we will be embarking on a Health & Safety Audit of our sites across the UK, covering all aspects of safe working, including:                   

·         Provision and correct use of PPE Storage and use of fuels

·         Safe use of work equipment                                                                                                            

·         Vibration testing          

·         Record keeping

·         Quality inspection       

·         House keeping

·         General inspection of equipment                                                                                                      

As part of our strategy to continue to be a company that recognises and embraces the importance of quality, we are seeking accreditation for ISO 9001 (Management systems); OHSAS 18000 (Health & Safety) and OHSAS 14000 (Environment), during 2007. The target date for this accreditation is November 2007. In addition to this the Chief Executive’s Quality Award (CEQA) is focusing on health and safety across the Group.

Brand Standards

Group has recently updated the Brand Standards to ensure consistency of image and messaging across the company. You can find a copy of the standards and templates upon request from the Luton office.

Congratulations

A double congratulations to Shane Morrison who was not only promoted to Contracts Supervisor for the Devon area, but also added a new member to his family when his baby girl was born on 30 April.
